Indonesia — and Bali in particular — is a top destination for Ghanaian travellers. While Ghana is not on the Visa on Arrival list, the C1 Tourist eVisa is easy to apply for online and gives 60 days — twice as long as the VOA. The non-negotiable is the yellow fever certificate. Get that sorted first.
Key Warnings
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is MANDATORY for Ghanaian passport holders entering Indonesia. Ghana is classified as endemic. Without the ICVP certificate, you face quarantine for up to 6 days or entry refusal.
Ghana is NOT on Indonesia's VOA list — you cannot pay at the airport counter like some other African passport holders. Apply for the C1 Tourist eVisa at evisa.imigrasi.go.id at least 2 weeks before travel.
The C1 visa must be used within 30 days of issuance. Do not apply too far in advance — apply 2 weeks before your travel date.
Do not overstay your 60-day visa. The overstay fine is IDR 1,000,000 (~USD 57) per day, plus possible deportation and entry ban.
Insider Tips
The C1 Tourist eVisa grants 60 days — twice as long as the VOA that Kenyan passport holders get. This actually makes it better for longer Bali stays.
Complete the All Indonesia app (allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id) before your flight — it replaced the paper landing card in October 2025 and the immigration queue moves faster when you have the QR code ready.
Most Ghana–Bali flights connect through Accra–Dubai (Emirates), Accra–Doha (Qatar Airways), or Accra–Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia Airlines/Batik Air). Kuala Lumpur to Bali is just under 2 hours.
If you plan to extend your stay, visit the immigration office by day 50 — offices in Bali can be busy and the process takes time.
