During President Mahama's state visit to Lusaka on 5 February 2026 the two foreign ministers signed a memorandum waiving visas for diplomatic, official and ordinary passports. Neither government had announced an effective date by 23 October 2026.

Zambia's Department of Immigration (lists revised 31 December 2024, after the 53-country waiver of 1 January 2025) places Ghana among nationals requiring a visa on arrival or from Zambian missions. Single entry is USD 25 under the August 2024 fee notice. The page's August 2026 'visa-free' status came from Wikipedia and was wrong.

Zambia's visa policy admits these nationalities without a visa for 90 days a year as tourists. This page previously described a visa on arrival that is not required. Nigeria is not on the exemption list and uses the e-visa.
